Technical Regulation of Turkish Ship

TECHNICAL REGULATION OF SHIPS

CHAPTER ONE

Purpose, Scope, Basis and Definitions

Purpose

ARTICLE 1 - (1– The purpose of this Regulation is; seaworthiness certificate for ships, loading limit certificate, port exit certificate and water vehicle for water vehicles

determination of technical rules, loading limits, expedition zones that will be the basis for issuing a certificate of conformity, as well as the principles of application for them

and it is the determination of the procedures and principles related to certification.

Scope

ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation applies to commercial ships and water vehicles with the Turkish Flag unless otherwise stated.

(2) The provisions of this Regulation relating to new ships shall also apply to ships converted into one of the types of ships carrying passengers or dangerous goods

is applied.

(3) The provisions of this Regulation shall apply to ships and water vehicles with special legislation in matters not regulated by their own legislation.

(4) The provisions of the international convention shall apply primarily to ships engaged in international navigation.

(5) The loading limit requirements do not apply to fishing vessels, primitive-built ships, private boats and water vehicles.

(6) The provisions of this Regulation shall not apply to military ships and water vehicles.

Basis

ARTICLE 3 - (1– This Regulation is the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th of the Law No. 4922 dated 10/6/1946 on the Protection of Life and Property at Sea,

according to the Decree Law No. 491 dated 10/8/1993 with the 6th and 11th Articles on the Establishment and Duties of the Maritime Undersecretariat
